In this blog post I’d like to talk about a new file system for Windows. This file system, which we call ReFS, has been designed from the ground up to meet a broad set of customer requirements, both today’s and tomorrow’s, for all the different ways that Windows is deployed.

Here is an interesting article from the MSDN blogs for Windows 8. I didn't read the whole thing, but it looks like a new file system will be coming out with the new release of the OS.

I'm assuming the widely used NTFS is from back in the Windows NT days.
Time for something improved!

Yes, Windows 98 was the last of the old file system I think, not sure about ME but I think it was NTFS as well.

FAT really sucked. NTFS is fine but getting a little old...
