Mybb, because it is an easy time saver with it's plugin system.

MyBB also and I also chose the same exact reason. The plugins system is very good compared to the one in phpBB. I wish they would fix that in phpBB4 or something. Maybe I will make a forum system that has a super awesome and easy plugin installation procedure yet with the customizability of phpBB.

I dont think phpbb coders will change the modification system anytime soon, because its too much of a switch at this point.

If AutoMOD worked fine it would be a different story - but the whole code editing thing is a pain.

AutoMOD basically you upload the .zip file of the mod and it attempts to automatically install it!

Sounds like a great idea. Does it work with most mods or is it a "try at your own risk" kind of thing?

See, thats another reason why I hate phpbb. There's always a catch when you want to do something with it.

To be honnest MyBB has not a good choice of mods and styles.
And in my opinion it is to american. phpBB is good if you want more customisation.

Firstly I am from the uk. And phpBB is more suited to the UK English lauguage rather than MyBB.

Well our english (UK) is different to the american english.
Words are different. their meanings are different.
For example:
Threads is American English - Topics is Brittish English.

Ah, that definitely explains why each board switches between threads and topics lol.

MyBB is way better, and thread suits better for forums than topics tbh, and you can install language pack so you can set british english if you want. also myBB has colored user titles and better mods. i don't say phpBB sucks, its not bad either but i prefer myBB.

I like PHPBB given it allows you to do just about anything but at the same time it lacks integrated features like MYBB.

PHPBB does need to get with the times and have SEO, Stats, Welcome on log in type features built in. I know it's free but having to code it all does get tiresome. I have thought about VB but it too has its challenges.

I never ever use Automod, if you want it right, code it long way. At least you will know where everything is at and have a first hand experience at knowing whats in your code sheets.
