Web Host Experiences

Postby shovenose » 14 Jun 2011, 09:14

Share your experiences of web hosts here...

SiteGround: Good uptime, great support, but they allow very little CPU resource usage. http://siteground.com/
WebHostingPad: Had a few issues, (but it's working fine now), the site is very slow, (Hardware Insights runs on these people, click the link in my sig to see how fast/slow this host is)...Support is decent, but often the live chat support will just tell you to email them...

Weebly: Very easy and simple free website hosting.
Their is not much support but it is easy to work out how it all works.

Proboards: nice features. good support forum.
It takes a bit of tine getting used to the ACP but it is ok
Bad side is that you have to create a custom style theme for the forum which makes forums look unprofessional.
But it has a built in spell checker mod which is very useful.

We are with Host Gator, never had a major issue with them. Fast, secure and easy to work with.

I spent three years on PUTITLIVE and they were awesome, right up till they went out of business and left me stranded. I switched to BlueHost two months and so far I have no complaints about them.

BlueHost is terrible, and so is their sister company HostMonster...

So far they are fine, I bought two years worth of Hosting so I'll see how it goes.
